We are Ally and Amanda. We met several years ago through Amanda’s sister’s friendship with Ally. When we met and started talking, we realised we both shared our great passion, appreciation, and love for interior design.Eventually Ally declared boldly, ‘we are going to open an interior design company together and it is going to be fun’. Whilst Amanda was quietly thinking ‘the amount of energy and work needed to run a business, I don’t think so (funny). Fast forward to today, with a leap of faith, we are running our interior design company and an online shop which has the handmade woven products.
We offer interior design services that range from Interior decoration and consultation, staging and home organisation. We mostly love to do decluttering and home organising, because we understand the struggle of having a well-functioning aesthetic space with today’s busy life. We also offer a virtual design service when required. When it comes to our products, you will be amazed at how they fit in perfectly in every interior style and that is what makes them the ideal pieces to have in any space. They are 100% natural, handmade, and carefully designed. Every piece has a story and we know that Africa is making a mark on the world with its richness in beautiful artefacts.
We feel blessed to be able to work for ourselves with the support of our husbands and family.
Busaka Belief
As interior designers, we believe every home has pieces that can be reused, repurposed and revived. There is no need to break the bank to have a space that is functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. That is why we started this company, to create thoughtful living spaces that are both functional and yet aesthetically pleasing. We are actually most happy when we transform a house into a home and are fulfilled to see our clients’ happy faces at the completion of a project.
Amanda
Have you met a person who makes you want to have the cutest home and make you fall in love with interior décor? That is Amanda. Cool, calm and collected; the perfect girl next door. With her great passion for interior design ever since a young age, and her obsession to make everything beautiful and perfect, she is the guru behind the creative department and content creation side. She is savvy, loves neutral (soft tone) colours. Her interior style leans towards farmhouse, eclectic and bohemian. Besides most of her experience being self-taught and currently pursuing an interior design qualification. She is a natural and her eye for design is impeccable. Her heart for understanding people’s needs, is a definite win for Busaka Interiors. Her favourite pieces to incorporate into designs are plants, candles, and little cute ornaments. And finally the reason she tells you why she became an interior designer, besides being obsessed with it, is her great love for African aesthetic and how it is becoming a game changer in the interior design industry.
Ally
Growing up with a mother who was obsessed with all things tidy and functional opened her eyes to having well organized spaces. And then later started helping family and friends decorating and organizing their homes. This is where she realised her great passion for interior design. With her passion for functional yet aesthetic home, she knew interior design was where her heart was, she pursued and got her qualification in interior design and said goodbye to the legal industry. She is high on life and brings unstoppable energy to the Busaka Interiors duo team. She can talk for days and you will hear her throughout the whole worksite. With a legal background, she is the driving force behind the operations and marketing side of things. With her love for fashion and colour she always has an eye on the big picture, and she gets way too excited just by envisioning the whole design of the space. When creating spaces, if you have passion for colour and all things modern, she is the colour guru and go-to person. Her interior style is more on the modern, minimal, and emphasis on warm and cosy. Besides being bubbly, she will get the work done. She has an amazing eye for detail. Her favourite pieces in a design are plants, cushions, and throws. Ask her why she became an interior designer, her response is, ‘every house can be made homey if you understand your style and know how to put everything together’
